New Artist Alert: Crippled Puppies
The way I found this band is kind of weird story considering I found out about them at a garage sale with my friends. The lady that seemed to be running it said she was in this band called The Crippled Puppies so my friends and I looked them up and they were pretty good. They sounded kind of like Florence And The Machine meets Cat Power.
Their name kind of suits them with their dark eerie sound but it blends nicely with the lead singers pretty voice. Unfortunately I don't know any of their names because their website doesn't seem to be working and their myspace doesn't have any info either. All I know is that they are a three piece from my home town Ventura California. you can hear their music on their soundcloud here.
You can watch their music video filmed in Ventura CA for their song "Fake Is The New Real" here.

Rilo Kiley Announce Split
Indie pop band "Rilo Kiley" was announced split by their guitarist Blake Sennett on spinner.com.
The quartet consists of famous indie singer Jenny Lewis who had a successful solo career singing along side the Watson twins, Elvis Costello, and boyfriend Jonathan Rice on her last record "Jenny and Jhonny." Sennet worked on different projects as well like his side band "The Elected".
Sennet's explanation for the split is as follows: "I just felt like there was a lot of deception, disloyalty, greed and things I don't really want to submit myself to. I had related that frustration to music but I just thought, 'I'm not going to put myself in that position again,' so I said, 'Fuck that, I can't do this anymore.'"
"Rilo Kiley" released 5 studio albums during their long 13 year run. Their last album, "Under The Black Light", was dissed by Sennet saying that the album "was not our best album by far". He even intended to release a "two-disk set of 40 songs" as an appropriate last release for the band.
